Hiking & Writing Updates

Is it just me, or does life get more hectic and chaotic in the summer? I'm really starting to believe that Murphy's Law is scarily correct. Or maybe my luck is just that bad? It is quite possible. I live in a city where luck is a thing not easily attained, or rapidly lost. "The City of Sin", or "The City of Lost Wages". But, I digress, none of that has anything to do with today's post.

I've been stressed out, so I wanted to share a photo from a recent hike that helped me relax a little and hopefully gets me back into writing euphoria.

Pretty, ain't it? I always feel most at ease, and stress free when I'm hiking. No noise of the city, or in my head; just one foot in front of the other and no obstacles except the path before me.

Lately I've been pushing forward on my newest novel, The Long Road Home. I'm about 3/4 of the way done and I'd like to think it's going to be a great book. This will be my first leap into Contemporary Romance. Some of my favorite indie's have done amazingly well in this genre (Tiffany King), but I'm still hesitant stepping away from my typical horrors or paranormal romances. There's only ONE way to find out if Contemporary Romance is for me, and I'm going to have to gather my courage and release the book when it's ready. Hopefully my readers will enjoy it and that's all that really matters to me.

I'm still working on Revenge(Warm Delicacy Series, Book 4), AND Vengeance (Agents of Evil Series, Book 3). They are both coming along well and I hope to have them both published before the end of the year. I've been trying to continually update my word counts on here so my readers can see the progress, but I've been slacking lately so I will try and get back on that. I'm one of those readers who likes to see where my favorite author currently is in writing their newest book, so I'm going to try to be better at posting updates etc.

Anywhos, I think I've vented enough for today. :o) Thanks for listening. ♥

Happy Father's Day to all the deserving fathers out there...

people taking on the role of father when they don't have to,

Roses & Writing

I've been spending a lot of time this spring updating my garden, and I'm super happy with the results even though I'm not completely done yet. :o) I made the difficult decision (it was difficult for me, but easy for my husband) to tear out nearly all the plants in my outdoor raised planter. I hated doing it, but I knew it had to be done.

I'm one of those people who likes to have plant life around them. Greenery is much needed when you live in the desert. Aside from the several plants within my home I like to have a lush looking backyard, but the past summer heat and harsh winter killed nearly everything I had outside. :o(

All that I ended up being left with was one rose bush and my pomegranate tree bush, it's not quite a tree yet,  but getting there.

Anyway, fast forward to yesterday and I now have a full (well..full according to my husband. If I had my way my backyard would look a jungle) planter. I now have 6 rose bushes, 1 strawberry plant, 1 poblano pepper plant, and 1 large pomegranate bush! I think by next year I will be able to eat a pomegranate from my own tree! Plus! I have plotted out a spot to plant a lemon tree! Who doesn't like fresh lemonade on a hot summer day?? It gets hot enough here in the summer (100+) that I'm going to want lemonade every day!

What I'm most excited about my garden, besides the many butterflies that have come to visit is the 2 amazing roses that were last additions to the garden planter. Their colors are absolutely amazing and they smell like heaven.

Seriously, have you seen anything so awesome!? A stripped rose?! It's blowing my mind! LOL

Moving forward to the writing part of my post, I'm working on two projects at once at the moment, which may prove to be too much but for now I'm going to keep plugging along. The third book in my Dystopian series is coming along and I hope to have it out by this summer. I'm excited to see what's in store for Abby and the gang. Undoubtedly there will be lots of scary baddies, and maybe a splash of romance, but mostly overall scariness. LOL

My other project is still sort of a secret, and honestly I haven't yet decided if it's going to be under a pen name or not yet. It's a new novel in a completely new genre. Heck, I'm not sure if I'll even publish it 'cause I haven't an inkling if I'm any good at writing in that genre but I'm trying anyways. Wish me luck!

Devour Synopsis Reveal & MORE

Devour, Warm Delicacy Series Book 3

You never know how strong you are until something makes you choose between humanity, and the beast.

As Claire descended deep into the ancient tomb; laying to rest the bodies of the fallen, she wondered if time healed all wounds, would an eternity be long enough? Still recovering from a brutal attack that nearly killed her, she refused to let evil win. Pain and destruction glared at her everywhere she went. Nothing and no one would ever be safe until Baal was not only defeated, but destroyed. Fueled by her thirst for revenge, she traveled with her father to the ‘old world’, seeking the aide of a long forgotten ally. Will their quest for help lead to their salvation, or is it only the first step in their annihilation?

Devour News!

It seems so long ago when I first started writing this series. I can remember how it felt when the idea first came to me, how excited I was to meet the new cast of characters in my life. Over the many months and previous books I feel that they've all grown so much, and each has found a permanent residence in my heart.
Though I don't have a concrete release date yet, I am shooting for a release later this month or no later than the first of March. Right now Devour is with my BETA team and I'm crossing my fingers till
I hear back from them. Hopefully they aren't telling me how terrible the book is, but if it is terrible I suppose they HAVE to tell me. I truly want Devour to be the very best it can be.
Since I can't say exactly when Devour is coming out, aside from saying it will be soon, I do have some treats for you all. If you haven't read the series yet you can start by reading Savor, which is currently FREE at Smashwords right now. I'm hoping I can get free at Amazon and B&N soon. https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/92986
Other news is that I will be revealing the synopsis for Devour very soon, with a small giveaway. That's all I have for now. I hope you're all excited about this new release, and I'm crossing my fingers and my toes that you'll enjoy the story. I truly put my heart and soul into it.
