Someday

I was browsing on the internet last night, waiting for dinner to cook and found something that made me drool more than the spaghetti I had on the stove. A kayak!! Yes, you heard me right, I said kayak. It probably sounds a little wacky, but I really want one. As of last summer, I've fallen in love with kayaking and am chopping at the bit to do it again. I love it almost as much as I love hiking. Almost. ;o)
See, doesn't that look awesome and totally peaceful?? No? What about this one?
In any case, I've decided to start myself a "Someday" fund. That way I can get started on doing the things I'd really like to do, and stop putting them off. I've even found myself a super cute kayak, and it's pink! I'd probably die and go to heaven if I could find a purple one, but pink is good too! So, next time I make the 1 1/2+ drive to go kayaking (I need to find someone with a truck to go with me. Carrying a 40 lbs. kayak nearly a mile to the water is not my cup of tea) I will post pictures!! I definitely recommend everyone try it at least one, you won't regret it. :o)

Chaos Inspiration

I've been receiving a ton of feedback lately on how much everyone is wanting Chaos to come out. While I'm not quite done writing it yet ( this book is taking on a life of its own ), I do want to share some images that have inspired the demons in book two of the Agents of Evil Series. And let's just say, they cause quite a lot of ruckus for Abby and her gang.

They are all pretty darn creepy if you ask me! Be glad you don't have to look at them every day and try to write without freaking out!

I hope I haven't revealed too many spoilers in the images below, unless of course you love spoilers!

This photo inspired a new kind of demon to the story. Although I changed several details the overall creepy effect is still the same. Definitely a deadly foe.

It wouldn't be the same if I didn't bring some more Demon Hounds into the mix! This photo inspired my original design in book one, Released.

I'm a girl, so of course there is nothing more terrifying than a spider. How could I not have something inspired by the thing that freaks me out most? Will Abby be able to defeat these eight-legged monsters?

Last, but not least the "Crowture". Abby and her crew make quick work of these annoying demons.

These are just a few of the demons in Chaos, cause it's definitely packed full. Got a different picture in your mind? Share it! I love fan art!

Stay tuned for cast photos of Chaos! I love this part. Sharing the photos of actors who I used for the inspiration of my characters.

I appreciate how patient every one is being with me about this book, and I know it is taking a long time for me to finish it, but I want it to be the best it can be. And the in end, hopefully be a great
and enjoyable read for all my fans and friends.

Wishing for Someday Soon Blog Hop!

I've been looking forward to today all week, my friends.  Very, very soon the long awaited release of Wishing for Someday Soon by the amazingly talented and lovely, Tiffany King will be here! To celebrate this fantastic book's release Tiffany has put together a blog hop to get everyone pumped up.

If you haven't yet heard about Wishing for Someday Soon is time to get in the know. This is a read you won't want to miss!

Book Synopsis:

Seventeen year old Katelyn Richards is a stronger person than anyone will ever know, and that is just the way she wants it. Behind her normal façade, lies the reality of a broken home life. Thanks to her abusive mother, a string of deadbeat stepfathers, and an unsympathetic system, Katelyn has learned that the only one she can count on is herself. Her life’s mission has become to shield her nine year old brother, Kevin, and to give him the future that they both wish for. A life with no more abuse, no worries about where their next meal will come from, and no more wondering if they will have a roof over their heads.

When her mother moves them again, this time to a small town in Montana, Katelyn’s resolve is shaken when she meets Max, a cute boy from her new school who gets a glimpse into her real world. Max slowly manages to break through Katelyn’s wall of distrust, stirring up feelings she never saw coming. Now with her world more complicated than she ever intended, Katelyn struggles with the decision to follow her heart into the arms of the first boy she has ever loved. A decision that could risk the promise she made to protect Kevin, and to give them the ‘someday soon’ that is so close within their grasp.

Exert:
When I was younger, I always thought of life like chapters in a book. I never knew what each turn of the page would bring, but always hoped for something better and happier. I regarded my younger brother and myself as characters that were meant to persevere, no matter what obstacles were thrown our way. Of course, our life was far from the paranormal worlds that I loved reading about. Not that you could call our life normal—not in the least, but we definitely didn’t have any cool supernatural powers or anything like that. Still, fantasizing about it helped pass the endless miles down highways that look the same no matter where you are at. If I were a paranormal character, I would be an illusionist. I had made it an art form to never let anyone know how I was really feeling. We never knew what kind of mood my mom would be in from one day to the next, so most days I was the emotional catalyst of the family, always trying to appear happy and cheerful, when inside I was screaming. My brother, on the other hand, would be a special character. Kevin is a unique soul, caring and selfless. He definitely doesn’t deserve this life—neither of us do, but at least we have each other, and I would die to protect him.

Debut Novel, The Sphinx Project by Kate Hawkings

Check out this new book from Kate Hawkings! I know I will!

Book description: Not many people can say their entire existence has been one big lab experiment: poked and prodded by scientists, genetically modified to be the best and endure the worst, subjected to daily tests and trials that would kill a normal human. All Michaela wants is her own life, to be able to go to school, flirt with boys, maybe eat ice cream now and then. So when the chance to escape finally comes, Michaela and her sister grab it, taking their friends with them.

But they weren’t the only ones to find their way out of those labs. Following close behind are another breed of creature, one that doesn’t know the difference between right and wrong, who exist only to feed their own hunger. The appearance of a strange boy who seems too much like them to be a coincidence makes things even more confusing. But as the world begins to literally fall apart around them, Michaela must accept his help, especially when she could lose the very thing she holds dearest: her sister.

Author info: Kate’s just a Kiwi girl, making her way in the big old world. She pushes doors that say pull, tells people it’s a long story when it’s not, and is completely addicted to chocolate. Her début novel The Sphinx Project about a genetically engineered teen hits digital shelves February 28th, 2012.
