5 Bite Review

Special thanks to the fantastic Savannah from Books With Bite!  She totally rocks and her blog is awesome.  Below is her review on my YA Dystopian Novel Released.

I loved this book! Not only was the plot AMAZING but it was like Resident Evil but for teens. Totally enjoyable and unforgettable!! What got me hooked in this book was the plot. As the reader, I enjoyed watching these teen survive the horror of the world. Demons running around killing everyone in site.
Abby I loved! Her strength and her kick butt moves amazed me. She was strong and just rocked! Carter and Max were a great team. They all stuck by each other and help each other out. I like that they were helpful to others that they came by. Even though they were just teens, they were really mature in how they acted. They took precautions, had weapons, and used anything available to them to survive.

The plot is very good. Ms. Duncan did a great job planning all the twists and turns in the book! The fighting and shooting guns was cool. I enjoyed meeting the crazy people as well. Crazy people in the book are always fun to read. The love interest was great too! I loved how Abby and Max's relationship grew. They knew each other their whole lives and then the world turn to crap bringing them closer. There relationship is a good refreshment to the book. Even as the world is ending, you can read the times that Abby and Max spent together and forget about what was really happening in the book. They are good complements to each other and brought a peaceful atmosphere in the mist of trouble.

Released, is a great, dark, pleasurable read. I was able to read this book in one sitting! Ms. Duncan had a way a of bringing characters to life right before your eyes. The storyline flowed really well and was an easy read. This book had everything you could want in a book. A kick-butt heroine, romance and lots of demon killing!

I give it 5 BITES!

Let The Signing Begin!

It is a surreal feeling to see a large box full of books with your name on it.  As an author I should be able to describe the feeling to you in perfect detail, but the words refuse to come.

What I do know is that as soon as I am able I will be getting these books ready for signing for whomever orders them.  I have a giveaway that will be ending at the end of the month, so one lucky reader will get one of these "bad boys" for free!  Congratulations to who ever that winner may be.  If you haven't entered yet, you can find a link to the giveaway on Goodreads, or you can click here.

I will also be creating a new blog page, to help my readers or future readers find my book(s) more easily as well as information on how to purchase a signed copy.

That's all the info I have for tonight, I need to get to writing Savor.  Have a good night everyone!

New to the IAN

Hey everyone!  I am super excited to announce that I have my very own page at the Independent Author Network

The Independent Author Network is a group of like minded authors who are self published or published by a small indie press. The group is open to authors who are active social networkers at sites like Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn, etc. The members share info, ideas, and experiences from self publishing and promotion. The group works together to promote each other online.

Please check out my page, by clicking here, or on the link above and help me spread the word.  I am very excited about being a part of this group and looking forward to learning a lot from my fellow IAN members.

March Results!

It has been a crazy journey getting through the first publication.  Now that it is all said and done I feel like I can breathe a little bit easier, and going forward, hopefully, when publishing Savor I will be more aware of what to expect.  There were many twists and turns, and even moments where I wondered if I was crazy, but with the help of my family and fellow indies I was able to push through.

I didn't quite know what I was expecting for sales on my first book.  I was just shy of my goal, but all and all I think I did pretty well.  I know perhaps once I get more books published and have more sales to compare I can really determine what kinds of numbers are good.  I sold copies to more than just my mom so that counts right? :o)

I know I have probably been saying it a lot, but I wanted to thank everyone for their support, whether it be reading Released, blogging about it, tweeting about it, posting reviews or just being there for me.  I couldn't have done it without you and I am truly and deeply grateful.

So, here are my numbers for March.  Keep in mind that Released was published on March 21, so that only gave me 10 days in March for sales.

Amazon            26 ebooks sold
Amazon UK       6 ebooks sold
B&N                 12 ebooks sold

This brought me to a grand total of 44 total ebooks sold in 10 days!

I got to say I am really happy about these numbers and they are much better than I could have ever dreamed, not to mention the wonderful reviews I have read.  Some really amazing readers have posted their reviews on Goodreads, Amazon, Amazon UK and B&N.  I love reading these reviews and they just make me smile from ear to ear whenever I read them, which is pretty darn often I have to admit.

I have also done two author interviews and one book spotlight that I am very excited about and hope that you all enjoy.  Just today I announced the winner for the giveaway that was being conducted on another blog.  I think the giveaways and interview are really fun to do and look forward to getting the opportunity to do more of them.

Now that the whirlwind has died down I am unsure of what to expect in the coming months, but I am going to try my hardest to not pay too much attention to the sales of Released from here on out.  I want to put all my energy and focus toward finishing writing Savor.

So, before I sign off I want to thank you all again, and ask that you wish me luck as I start this roller coaster ride of publication all over again.  :o)

Giveaway Winner

A winner has been announced for the giveaway on Me, My Shelf and I.  I wanted to thank Amber for hosting such an awesome interview, as well as a fun giveaway, not to mention she is just all-round fabulous!  (Fabulous is my word of the day apparently)
I also wanted to congratulate Erin G. on winning a copy of Released.  I hope she really enjoys the story.

Plans for the Weekend

I wanted to give everyone a heads up as I might be quieter this weekend than usual.  I have a few goals that I am determined to accomplish.  First and foremost I want to post Released's paperback version up on Amazon.  I am really excited about getting this one done, so it is definitely at the top of the list.  I will also be updating the eBook version as I had found a few errors when proofing the PB version. (Commas are my nemesis!)

Once this is done I will then be able to start a giveaway on Goodreads, where I will be giving away a signed Paperback. I am also still considering having another giveaway through my blog myself.  Right now the giveaway at the blog I posted previously (Me, My Shelf and I) and Goodreads, should be more than enough to keep me busy.  In addition, now that I have a PB available I can submit it to another blogger for review, which is exciting.  The more exposure I can get the better.

I would also like to post the sales for my first "month" of publication.  I say that because I technically wasn't published for an entire month.  I will have to double check to confirm the exact number of days, but I want to say a little over 2 weeks.  I don't have any previous sales to compare these to, but I think I did pretty darn good.  That's all I will say for now, you will have to stay tuned for my sales post. :o)

On Monday, April 4th, is my Author Spotlight and I hope you all check it out.  It was a fun interview and I can't wait for it to be shared with everyone.

To end this post I want to send a special thanks to everyone who supported me during this journey, to all my readers who so graciously helped spread the word about Released and to those who took time out of their day to review my book.  I couldn't have done this without you.  Thank you, thank you!
